(we like this design with an entire roof of solar panels & a complete gray water system)
for the pasts several years ye and i have become more and more interested in small space living. under 1200 square feet basically. then using the vertical space gifted by floor plan. the concept of building creativity, sustainability, eco-friendly & with architecture that is enhancing to the eye. mind you considering the dollar and not just inflating the idea of fashion or pre-fab. so many homes are built out of templates a contractor is using to build others a home identical to yours. so much misuse of space planning, or lack thereof. the high use of whatever materials lowes or home depot has on hand. a spoon fed slice of americana please? its painful to just accept what we can afford rather than have an actual opportunity or choice to create (as well) a unique living space. could we have another neighborhood that looks alike? anybody been to the recent developments in salt lake city? issaquah? modesto? albany? st.louis? etc etc etc.

maybe just maybe if we save our pennies we might some day be able to build.... until then its back to the basic rectangle dwellings.

1200sq ft? Try maintaining your sanity in that space with two toddlers!! The 300th time you trip over the swath of toys scattered about you'll be begging for that 2800sq ft pre-fab home. ;)
