surfing my cares away

surfed this morning early. dropped the board in the water just as the sun burst over the island of maui. paddling out with a rare view of the top of the big island, clean views of maui, lanai and molokai'i. 1/2 day at work and heading out now for an afternoon session. :-)

day off tomorrow and the boss is paying me to surf! waves are suppose to bump up a few feet all over the island. mother natures way if sending 2004 out with a bang.

a little help and small effort goes a long way

redcross.jpg
tripped out right now reading the BBC news page. 77 thousand is the lastest toll and the diseases have yet to take hold. expectations are to reach over 100 thousand. children, infants, mom's, dad's and everybody else in a family. regular people...

there are tons of places people can send help. christmas here is a damn joke and maybe that "ASS" bush will pony up some of our oil soaked money and send it to people who are dying. christ george do something interesting. think for yourself for once you figure head puppet, cough up some money and save what's left of your world humanity image. this of course falls on dull ears since i'm a peon voter and all the harcore capitalistic drones are to busy calculating this years christmas spirit sales and post holiday inventory clearences. with the hopes of course it might give an indicator that people in USA are on a continued rebound economically. blah blah blah.

ye and i are broke as a joke but we sent some love and support last night to the red cross.
www.redcross.org
even though the USA dollar is taking a beating right now in the world market. we still have a strong currency in these poor regions that the quake and waves destroyed.

Baby Boy!! no, it's not ours :)

it's a little after 3am on wednesday morning. corey is snuggled deep under the covers, snoring away. i couldn't get back to sleep just yet, so here i am...blogging in for you all. i just got back from a birth. i had the priveledge & honor to take part in welcoming another life into this world. a beautiful, healthy, 7 1/2 pound baby boy!! natural childbirth is so amazing. to be able to deliver your baby, in the comforts and relaxing atmosphere of your own home is so special. there is this overwhelming sense of calm that is felt.

lori and i left honolulu at 10pm, got to kaaawa (out in the country of oahu) at 10:45pm, and baby was out by 11:58pm. our dear mother delivered in their king sized tub...candles lit all around us. it was me, lori, mom, dad, and two friends. a perfect childbirth team! everyone was so helpful in making it all happen.

truly a miracle! sometimes that i can't believe this is my job. i am so very grateful each day of all that is before me. the gift of life must never be taken for granted.

love,

Earthquake & Tsunami waves

thzsign.jpg
(a common sign out here in the middle of the ocean)

DAMN it's a horrible thing to hear about the 9.0 earthquake out off the west coast of northern sumatra, indonesia. largest in the world to be recorded in 40years. horrible deaths to an estimated 50K+ (last count) in all and damage to millions.

lots of people out here in hawaii are stunned. perplexed at the potential that an earthquake of that size can have. especially on island living like those of sri lanka, the maldives, phuket - thailand, indonesia, india, somalia and so many others. such devastation to so many poor countries. WTF?

many people are chattering here about the chaos. many people have been to those islands and areas for surfing. hell, we live in the same type of situation. to think of a wave train traveling at 200-500 mph at an average 40-50 feet or more is unthinkable. how can somebody even visualize a wave moving as fast as a plane?

those poor people. i'm not even sure what to say. i'm at a loss over the thoughts of it.

here is some info incase your local TV stations suck and local news papers are lame with standard info.

japanese anime with some johnny cash on the side

Naruto3.jpg
over the past year i've really been able to dig my hands into some cool japanese anime. (another category the japanese kick our ass in..is cartoons & story telling.) I've seen some mind blowing art lately. much more artistic then the traditional art being made here in the states. lately, i've been hooked on a running TV series out of japan called "naruto". we get it here at work once they guys in japan load it up on the server. BAM! seconds later it's here and we're dialed in. i think we're on episode 115 at the moment. ye calls me a junkie, but i think the art is creative and ground breaking consistent.

my defense is weak by saying lots of the guys/ gals here are into all kinds of characters and creations of gaming culture. i think one of the guys i work with has 70 action figures on his desk. a unique sight to see mind you. smart guy and has a flare for game design like no other. funny thing is there are multiple folks here just like him.

of course i haven't converted entirely since i do not own an x-box as of yet. most of the people at work play online. such games as halo2, WOW, DOOM 3 and half-life to name a few. maybe ye will give in this year. i've been selling the idea that they have a karaoke system we can set up. she can then download any song she wants. which in retrospective might be a tad bit painful for me (and those in the room) if you've ever heard me sing!

for some reason i have had a hankering to sing johnny cash?
didn't dolly parton and johnny cash do a few tunes together?
ye could wear a blonde wigg....and i can get my hands on some elvis looking sunglasses with sideburns attached. the possibilities are endless.

Mele Kalikimaka...

Aloha dear friends, family...our o'hana,
slippa.JPG
We're just lounging around right now making phone calls to our loved ones across the ocean. Actually, Corey is napping right now...catching up on some lost zzzz's from this morning. A beautiful Christmas morning spent out on the waves. 6:30am alarm goes off and my eyes are still closed shut as Corey rolls over to me and asks me if I want to go surfing. "Yeah, sure. But just give me 5 more minutes to sleep."

6:35am and we're off, boards stacked one on top of the other on our car, two towels, a sarong, and flip flops. Got there by 7am. Eyes still heavy and half open. We slowly make our way down to the beach. The sun coming up from the ocean...rising into the sky like a perfect blazing grapefruit off in the distance.

Corey takes off his flip flops and tucks them up in the palm tree. I follow his lead hiding mine. Flip flops laid along the ground everywhere before you go on the beach. It makes me laugh and reminds me of how growing up we always had to tell our friends to take off their shoes before they came into our house. That's the asian way here in anyone's house you go into, as well as the ocean.

The worse thing that could happen to you if getting your slippah's stolen after a surf session. Or even worse than that, it's just your left one that's missing!! :) Corey and I have thought many a times how funny it would be if someone came down and just stole everyone's left flip flop, while they were surfing.

I like to call diamond head our exclusive health club. You can get such a variety of a workout. You can stay shallow and always get a free ride in the white wash. The only pay back is that you have to work hard to get back out to sea through it. You can stay in the channel and just chill, zone out or meditate, whatever calls you for that moment. Another option is that you can paddle out to the line-up with the big boys. That's where you get the consistent waves & the bigger ones. But you have to be mindful and practice proper etiquette. Anyway, I'm usually all over the place. I love the variety!!

It's usually the same members at dawn patrol. The old surf boys talking story out in the water...ranging from their 40s on up. One of the old timers was wearing a Santa hat out on the water over his helmet :) Corey got some good pics' of it with our water proof camera. I was the only girl out there for awhile, smiling and wishing everyone a merry christmas.

The evening plans are scheduled to be Christmas carolling on the waikiki trolleys and full moon surf with our Hawaiian o'hana....

A beautiful way to celebrate christmas...you are all in our hearts. We miss you all! Happy holidays!! Once again, a time to be thankful for the simple things in life...family, friends, our health, mother nature and love.

Loving aloha,

ye & corey

fresh mahi mahi x-mas gift

mahi 1.JPG
a friend called us tonight & wanted to bring over a fresh fish for us. he's our connection here on the island for the hook up. he knows a guy who fishes weekly & scores many. then he barters for the fish and makes trades. needless to say when the boat docks we get a call & make a run to pick up the goods. today however he shows up with this bad boy & says "mele kalikimaka". stoked! fresh mahi mahi for dinner!

i've wanted to post some of our friends art up here for a while now. finally getting around to it. the artist is from when we lived in seattle. our friend KEO had a small studio in her house where she locked herself up for hours and would paint feverishly. anyhow, here is some of her older work. fun and creative.

vertical space day dreaming

loft cube.jpg
(perched on a building rooftop: "loftcube")

there are days that we hate living in the city. there are also many days we are happy to have access to the things that we do. the constant relationship is a question of personal space & people. enjoying each day for what it has to offer & the most you can make of it. sooner or later in life though your faced with the questions of to rent or to take the plunge & own? to save pennies or get a second job & make a couple more pennies?

honolulu is a city filled with identical houses. some variations but essentially cookie cutter styled dwellings. of course if you have money you can buy your unique dream. but for the rest of us that are just making ends meet, we're stuck with what's available. everything is expensive. $land land land$ is what many are after. it's damn expensive here, maybe $150K - 250k an acre? ye & i have talked about the parameters involved when living in the city. the concept of living on horizontal plots of land with little to no lawns, gardens or yards to speak of. if you do get one it's a heavy cost per square foot. until then however, you get potential view of a neighbors chain link fence, old ass junk car, dog house or maybe even piled up STUFF in the driveway. another option is to be living in a high rise where the transportation to your modern treehouse home is an elevator on XYZ floor.

4x4.jpg
(looks like 4 floors that are 20x20)

i think this is my most recent motivation & why i've become fixed on the idea of vertical space. ye seems to be jumping on board with the idea. to creatively come up with a solution & a green idea to use available space on a rooftop? or just a small cube of dirt that is approved to build straight up?

i hate renting JUST what's in the market. i dislike the concept of 5-7% real estate agents. i like blank peices of paper with potential. i like creative ideas. i like choices & options.

cool little homemade ipod video

yes i'm an ipod junkie as well as a in the closet "design graphics" junkie. so when a friend of a friend sent me this, i thought it was a nice little piece of creativity. apparently this George Masters has some time to kill. it took him 5months to make & he did it just for the fun of it!
(he's a school teacher by trade)

funny little tid-bit is that this is exactly where today's advertising is headed. (homemade ads, homemade movies for indie festivals, blog style chit chat, music video's etc..)..raw, creative and unaware of the glass ceiling limiting today's BS corporate molding.
enjoy..

holiday tree is up

IMG_0294.JPG

tiz the last remaining days of holiday madness. we decided that this year we would be ahead of the holiday madness. well, not really considering it's less than a week away. normally ye and i are the last 2 people runnning around the damn shops at the hour or so before closing. we are in fact part of the population that the stores stay open late for. so this year we decided that we needed a little chaos and cultural study. with that said, this weekend was holiday tree hunting (an alive and growing one at that) and then followed up with several days of hit and run shopping. sprinkled with some heavy traffic, a visit to the mad house of double parked chinatown, light decorating and lots of java to fuel the process.

ah.....all the things we missed about people and the holidays right out side our door. we started at 11am this morning. not that early for the true daredevils we had hoped to be this weekend. guess we never claimed to be shopping pro's and needed to work up some courage. which in the end is what gave me the beat down as ye dragged me around as i cryied about how i wanted to go home and hide about 3pm.

she laughed with a sinister grin and said "shutup and keep going".
she persisted that we endure and strive forward. like the loving companion she is, she pulled me along telling me to do this and find that. my mantra was keep it simple and keep my feet moving. as long as i stayed away from that damn evil satan apple store i knew i wouldn't have much longer to go. (i could spend a months pay in that place and not even realize what the hell was happening :-)

she did go for the hail mary move though. gave me the carrrot of "if we get this done we could make sushi". yeah i know i know...she fights dirty. low ball punch right there. thankfully in the end we finished everything on that list she had clasped white knuckeled in her hands. even if she had to slap me silly and say "keep focused, only this-n-that and we're done".

sushi & sake was good by the way....

take a gander at the tree we just put up. it might be thin, but it's tall. plus we can plant it outside and it'll keep growing.

alohas, "mele kalikimaka"

mix & match

y&l(sm pixel1)_1.jpg
as the new year arrives we'll have many changes for us here in hawaii. one of them being that we are going to be launching the new clinic. well it might be better to say its taking on an evolution, or creating another new chapter. a rather perplexing bit of stress i must say. yet its a dream come true after years of hardwork. recently we shot some photo's for the art inventory. here's a one of ye and lori near the southern side of the island.

on another note: here is a a photo of yesterday's competition up at waimea bay. monster waves with 20-30 foot faces and board/bone crushing potential. i sneaked up there after i bagged out of work. road the surly to cut through the crowd of 20,000 spectators. :-) unreal waves, sunny day, light breezes, lots of mana (spirit) and good vibes. shot some decent dig film as well. i'll try to post this weekend.

just wanted to give you an update on my surfboard. that's part of "buddha" that i designed. i love his smile!! he makes me so happy everytime i look at him. my board has been brought to the glasser in haleiwa by my housemate, kimo greene, who shaped the board. lori, my boss & dear friend water colored my art work.

please take a minute this holiday season and stop. i'm not being an ass by saying this, just trying to spread a word. i'm just suggesting we all stop a little more....then act on/about how to help this world we live in.?!? simple things or more of them. like kiss your kids, hug them, read more, smile more, close your eyes & think. turn the tv OFF, be free to share things with the people you love, do a favorite hobby, let it out and just breath. if you do not have the motivation then maybe these links are a spot for you? a small bump in he road. maybe not?
for me every time i comb these pages i realize how simple life is, and i ask myself:

do you help?
do you hurt or inflict?
do you complain & laugh it off?
am i helping?

i'm not posting this to take a stance as a liberal or a democratic voter. politics and religion are a choice of your own. but when it kills or supresses those around us. its everybodys problem now.

some people have seen these and others haven't. if you have seen them that's good. if you have not?..well then slap on a favorite cd, sit back and scroll through the picks. then ask yourself how do you feel?
sorry everybody

post-marathon

my post-marathon status is "acceptable". the knees are feeling stiff which is ok. however oddly enough the shoulders are sore the most? must be all the damn surfing. thanks to ye for the massage therapy work and thanks to louise for the supplement treatments. both have greatly reduced the shock to the body a marathon can induce. with a little luck and some rehydration i'll be back by wednesday.

eddie.jpg
speaking of wednesday, there is some chatter in the air that big waves are on the way for that day. right now even the waves are going off. we're talking some serious ass kicking up on the north shore. today is about 10-15 foot high mtn's of water. tuesday is expected to be 15-20foot and even bigger on wednesday. which might just trigger the "Eddie Aikau 20th anniversary big wave competition". if i had to guess?? i say the announcements have gone out already and all the best big wave surfers in the world are taking long ass flights into honolulu to catch the competition which only happens in waves bigger than 25feet. in-fact the last couple years the competition hasn't happened due to the waves couldn't jump over 20foot. its only been held 6 times in the last 19years. that just gives you a sense of how freaky the waves have to get before this contest is on. but as we all know mother nature is to determine if she wants to show up and play or not.

check it out here if you like:

Gokouun o inorimasu (good luck)

@ the start.JPG
3am ready for the race

Ganbatte Akiramenaide (come on, keep trying)

well today was a very interesting day. got up this morning about 245am to head down to the honolulu zoo. from there i caught a transport to the starting line of the marathon. as soon i was off the bus i knew this was going to be an interesting day. 25 thousand people were getting ready to run the 32nd annual honolulu marathon. 15thousand flew here from japan just to race. the remaining were americans, folks from austria, findland, kenya, russia and smaller numbers from random places. 2 out of 3 people were japanese. JAL (japanese airlines), Konami (japanese gaming company), Nike, Amino Aide and several other japanese companies all sponsored the massive event. i've never seen so many people wearing costumes to run. from geshias, sumos, pandas, japanese cartoon characters, bees, halloween styled outfits, judo robes, yoda look alikes, and many other crazy well thought out costumes. so many friendly people. happy and upbeat about the punishment about to be sent down to them. i've done my fair share of competitions and NEVER has it been more supportive and fun to have people cheering for you who have no idea who you are. let alone cheering for you in another language.

when i made my way over to the starting line there was thousands of people all lined up and spread out in a grid performing exercises to an announcer. WAY to many video cameras to keep track off. (another advantage the japanese have on americans is that they are much more gadet adavanced then we could ever hope to be here in the states)

as for the race it was a cool morning, light breezes, wide open roads and lots off mileage t be covered.
ye was so good she kept popping up here and there along the way. wearing a bright pink dress and a purple wig made it easy for me to pick here out. not to mention she was on the scooter and always seemed to be dodging the cops and getting into more noticable parts of the race course.
as for pace, over all i ran most of the race at 7minute pace.
Mile mark 9

Mile 14

Sunrise mile mark 15

hit the 20mile mark at 2hours and 20minutes. stoked! i was happy about this considering the shoty training i've had this fall. then all hell broke loose: figured i could stop and pound a few several cups of water at an aide station, stretch and then hammer home the last 6 miles.
followed the first part of this rather well. then started to stretch.....bam. right ham locked up. honestly felt like someone had took a hammer to the back of my leg. quickly bent my left leg to compensate for the hell of the right one..bam. left ham curled into a ball. the remaining 6 miles turned into a fight against keeping the legs from cramping and trying to get them loose.
ah well. it was fun anyhow and finished will a smile on my face. about 3hours and 15minutes giver or take.

after a big breakfast and a long nap. i'm looking forward to a little massage therapy in about an hour. until then i'm just gimping around and laughing at all the fun people i meet today.
alohas!

the simple things...

aloha dear friends and family,

i just wanted to submit an entry before i went to bed. we are preparing for corey's marathon tomorrow...his first official honolulu marathon. lots of little things to do to get him all prep'ed and ready to go. the number one priority being to cut his hair, because it flies in the wind and makes him itchy. i thought that was pretty funny. he hates running with bush-y hair, mind you. that's my soul mate. :)

it's been almost two months since i've been back from india. it's amazing how you see life a little bit differently after you've spent some time at the home of the dalai lama. the things that seemed to matter don't really matter so much.

the holidays are coming up like a whirlwind. trying not to get caught up in the busy-ness of going to the malls and give into consumerism. we've decided that we will be creative and organic in our gifts this christmas. this is the time to be thankful for our loved ones, the simple things in life, like our health, spontaneous bouts of laughter, giggling so hard that your cheeks hurt and pee-ing your pants, giving to give, babies, the wise at heart, waterfalls, wild ginger flowers, panda bears, bamboo trees, hearing from long lost old friends, surfing waves, swimming with the dolphins, turtles, whales, monk seals, little tropical fish, and your ocassional shark :) , clean air, down comforters, lazy sundays, rainbows, chocolate, meeting a new friend, loving compassion, unconditional love, o'hana....

may we always be thankful for the simple things in life...the things that really matter.

with love,

ye

VW design ideas

1-sec-1.jpg
so lately i've been a closet design junkie. looking into and checking out design sites, blogs and books over the past year. i've gathered a rather decent list of places on the net to go and find creative design. so i was kicking around on the web today and found this. its a design submission for a revamp of the VW Westfalia. mind you we're in love with the VW van so this was super cool to watch. clean lines, functional ideas, small space planning and all of it following the motto/ concept of why the VW van was built. the folks at Verdier who did this are out of montreal (yeah!) and have nailed a solid idea here.

now it would be to good to be true to make it a: 5speed hybrid or biodiesel, install a lift kit, a cooler full of grub, some brews, a coupla surf boards, ipod, a bike rack with bikes and we'll see you some time in the next year in Chile. :-P

alohas folks. thought it might be nice to post up some pics of ye's favorite animal. she has always had a soft spot for pandas. we think she was one in her past life. if you want to know more about them head here Smithsonian National Zoological Park. they even have a live panada cam. note: you'll need some good connection speed to view.

oh yeah, on a humor note: thanks to the chinese and communistic shallow minds the world now has a thousand or so of these animals left. WOW china your over population and fat asses are a great advantage. pretty soon you'll be just like the good ol'USA. (2thumbs up)

there's a fish in my shorts

no really..its true. this morning i go out for a sunrise surf session. paddle out and sit there for a while just looking at the reef below. all the tropical fish zipping around chasing each other and going about the morning activities. i had heard this week that the jelly fish had made their way into the south shore. which is common about 10days after the full moon. from what i gather they sting like hell. (man-o-war and box jelly fish) so today i'm mildly aware of the potential.

anyway, i look around and search for any signs of them since the water is a clear nice shade of blue. my feet dangling in the water and baggy shorts floating next to the board. i look at my left leg and realize there's some fish zipping in and out of the loose floating shorts material. turns out it was a small school of about 10 tiny tropical fish. i swoosh them away, they come back. again and again. this happens until i catch a wave in the next set. kind of laughed for a bit at the fact some fish wanted to make a home in my shorts.

another funny story was that ye once was out at a secret spot snorkling with the dolphins. she was tooling around under water and started to paddle towards her board. she realized there was a single tropical fish directly under her board. then where ever she paddled the little fish would stay right under the board. i guess this happend for about 5 minutes. she thought this was the funniest thing.

read a great story a couple weeks ago in the paper. this couple and some kids were swimming of the western coast of new zealand. all of the sudden 7 or so dolphins zoomed in and around the people. making a sort of semi circle and swimming around them. acting eratic and flipping about. the dad thought is was odd and dove below to see what was happening. to his amazment below him he could see a large shark lurking. the dolphins stayed with and around the people until a rescue boat arrived. then they took of.

all these are tid bit stories. but it makes us wonder what really happens out there in the water.

memory lane

ye and i were talking recently about all the folks we have known in our lives. the variety of personalities, characters, unique humored and candor. i'm working on a photo gallery section right now for this blog and with a little luck we'll be able to get this up for the holidays. would be nice to scroll along and see some of your friendly faces all in a common area. for us being so far away it makes the holidays that much more enjoyable to know our o'hana is still close even if they are afar and spread all over.

over the course of the next several weeks we hope to get many photos of you up. if you would like to add to our gallery please send us a favorite you have. (or if your new to the site and just want to say hello) until then we'll start it off with some photos and post'um @ random.

ideas - design - smart living

lamidesign_porch_house_mar_04.jpg
another image
(we like this design with an entire roof of solar panels & a complete gray water system)
for the pasts several years ye and i have become more and more interested in small space living. under 1200 square feet basically. then using the vertical space gifted by floor plan. the concept of building creativity, sustainability, eco-friendly & with architecture that is enhancing to the eye. mind you considering the dollar and not just inflating the idea of fashion or pre-fab. so many homes are built out of templates a contractor is using to build others a home identical to yours. so much misuse of space planning, or lack thereof. the high use of whatever materials lowes or home depot has on hand. a spoon fed slice of americana please? its painful to just accept what we can afford rather than have an actual opportunity or choice to create (as well) a unique living space. could we have another neighborhood that looks alike? anybody been to the recent developments in salt lake city? issaquah? modesto? albany? st.louis? etc etc etc.

maybe just maybe if we save our pennies we might some day be able to build.... until then its back to the basic rectangle dwellings.

The Far Shore

no surfing today. windy as hell out on the south shore.(20-35mph) a week of this nonsense and i'm starting to have the desire to pick up wind surfing as a side sport. so today we've just been chilling out, headed to farmers market and choked down a cup or 2 of java. other misc saturday details like still working on the photo gallery. got what i need installed on the sever and not just need to get the code and install. many photo's still need to be added. so much todo for this little space of ether on the net.

marathon is about a week away. ran 10 yesterday with ease. a coupla 6's earlier this week and hopefully tomorrow i'll throw down a 15-18. getting the body to a state of cruz'ing for distance. had some hiccups this fall in the training. needed to re-adjust mentally and trim some weeks in the plan. ah well, looking to lean on those years of college running to survive next sunday. they are expecting 20,000 at this race. 1/2 of which will be japanese and can run their asses off all day and night. thinking of dragging the ipod along to keep me company. set up a straight out rocking playlist last week for the event just "incase".

other random tidbits:
i've been logging onto the intergalactic pilot blogs more and more latley. its been helping me motivate myself for the up coming cycling season. these guys are solid. also makes me miss the snow alot as well. rolled the surly out yesterday and have it up ready for the scrub down. leaving the pretty bike tucked away until i can get the pony's into a decent enough shape to do lola some justice. maybe if i'm lucky i can use the marathon and several more races this jan/feb as a good transition into cycling. have some sensation of good health before i start the miles of abuse for the unconditioned cycling legs. now if i could only get my swimming under control i might be able to toss myself into a tri and have some real sadistic fun. cycling is second nature and running is as well. but the swimming is another ball game all to itself. my motto is "i can swim to save my life, as long as its within 150yrds to shore"

heading to north shore in an hour. surfing film feastival with several really cool original 70's flicks on the docket. funny thing is its in an old barn/community center tucked away. jack johnson is showing a surf film up in haleiwa as well. stoked! one movie in particular i've waiting to see is "The Far Shore". about 2 younger adults in the early 70's traveling to south amercia on no money a couple cameras and a couple surf boards. getting lost and tripping all over discovering unknown breaks and seeing parts of the coasts that no surfer had touched. other voyages as well to ireland, africa and europe. 10years of travel footage and stories. i'm guessing this will be a good dose of inspiration for the recent travel bug that has bitten me. i await, eagerly..the buzz....

bitten by the travel bug

maybe its the holidays, could have been the recent disappointing election results, might be the lack of snow we have here in the tropics. ye's even exhausted from 3 intense baby deliveries in the last 3weeks. guess its just that time to cutt loose & disappear. seems like lately we've been searching for cheap tickets & day dreaming of random travels. for now though we must wait our turn. find some easier ways to voyage the world. thankfully the web lets us all visit many places in a click-N-go fashion...

More of Ye's travels in the east

A cycling black eye

phonak.jpg
it was offically announced. tyler has been released from his phonak team. "they" call it a mutual agreement between the 2 sides. referring to so much pressure being applied by the UCI, pro tour invite issues, pending doping cases, medals at stake, 15% image contracts, etc..

not to mention several members of the team have already tested positive. to add more salt in the wound earlier this year oscar had been released regarding tour performance issues, or lack thereof. poor floyd landis and what the hell must he be thinking right about now?

so american cycling is taking a serious punch in the face today. i'm now 50/50 on this issue. its hard to watch this happen. in today's competitive world of cycling...anything is possible.
part of me wants tyler & phonak to be handed their ass on a platter, and another side wants me to see him move up and onwards. obviously one of these is going to happen. maybe even both in time.
