Mele Kalikimaka...
Aloha dear friends, family...our o'hana,
We're just lounging around right now making phone calls to our loved ones across the ocean. Actually, Corey is napping right now...catching up on some lost zzzz's from this morning. A beautiful Christmas morning spent out on the waves. 6:30am alarm goes off and my eyes are still closed shut as Corey rolls over to me and asks me if I want to go surfing. "Yeah, sure. But just give me 5 more minutes to sleep."
6:35am and we're off, boards stacked one on top of the other on our car, two towels, a sarong, and flip flops. Got there by 7am. Eyes still heavy and half open. We slowly make our way down to the beach. The sun coming up from the ocean...rising into the sky like a perfect blazing grapefruit off in the distance.
Corey takes off his flip flops and tucks them up in the palm tree. I follow his lead hiding mine. Flip flops laid along the ground everywhere before you go on the beach. It makes me laugh and reminds me of how growing up we always had to tell our friends to take off their shoes before they came into our house. That's the asian way here in anyone's house you go into, as well as the ocean.
The worse thing that could happen to you if getting your slippah's stolen after a surf session. Or even worse than that, it's just your left one that's missing!! :) Corey and I have thought many a times how funny it would be if someone came down and just stole everyone's left flip flop, while they were surfing.
I like to call diamond head our exclusive health club. You can get such a variety of a workout. You can stay shallow and always get a free ride in the white wash. The only pay back is that you have to work hard to get back out to sea through it. You can stay in the channel and just chill, zone out or meditate, whatever calls you for that moment. Another option is that you can paddle out to the line-up with the big boys. That's where you get the consistent waves & the bigger ones. But you have to be mindful and practice proper etiquette. Anyway, I'm usually all over the place. I love the variety!!
It's usually the same members at dawn patrol. The old surf boys talking story out in the water...ranging from their 40s on up. One of the old timers was wearing a Santa hat out on the water over his helmet :) Corey got some good pics' of it with our water proof camera. I was the only girl out there for awhile, smiling and wishing everyone a merry christmas.
The evening plans are scheduled to be Christmas carolling on the waikiki trolleys and full moon surf with our Hawaiian o'hana....
A beautiful way to celebrate christmas...you are all in our hearts. We miss you all! Happy holidays!! Once again, a time to be thankful for the simple things in life...family, friends, our health, mother nature and love.
Loving aloha,
ye & corey

Merry Christmas Corey and Ye. I was online trying to get this stupid laptop tat we just got connected to our internet account. Things are good here. Too many presents and good food. Everything went good at Grandma and Grandpa Facteau's. Good to see some of the family that we don't get to see the rest of the year. Most of the locals were there, uncle john brought the exchange student and one of her friends from germany, shane flew in from denver. Has been a mild winter so far and i hope that it continues with that trend. Glad to see your site up and running. Hope to be able to post here a little more. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Happy Holidays Ye and Corey:
Hope you both had a wonderful Christmas...Peter and I are currently in Bozeman, Montana visiting my brother and his family...Its gorgeous here. We went on a hike yesteray around Gallatin mountain...saw several deer, frozen waterfall, evergreen trees, etc.
We also went on a sledding excursion on Christmas eve, which resulted in Peter braking his arm (distal radial fracture to be more specific :P)..but he's been a great sport about it...he probably also likes having the women dote on him too :)
Well, take care you 2.
Your friends--Beth & Peter
