surf scoot is ready to go....
finally the new surf board mount is ready to roll! at 2 bucks a week in gas this little mama has made my life easy. now she is going to provide me with even more ease by carting the board on the early morning sessions. all i needed to do was design a make shift scooter mount since the rack is actually a bicycyle mount. which later this summer will be used for just that on the surly. yet for now i've converted it to the scoot for easy of use until life is more stable.
anyhow it looks solid & will hold up to an 8foot board. anything after that gets a little dicey & i start to worry about wind & potholes. i did however mount the 10 footer to see what it looked like. as you would imagine it looked like the scoot was straped to the board, rather it being the other way around. i could see the newspapers now: "haole boy on moped caught in cross wind sails through 8 lanes of traffic dragging a 10 foot longboard".
speaking of weather, check last nights hazy susnet. every now & again the islands have an issue with VOG, or better known as volcanic air pollution.

I wouldn't go over 10mph with a board attached to that bike....although that may be its top speed ;) At least you get to ride however...I'm still waiting for at least a nice 50 degree day to break out my bike :(

i laughed out loud at your newspaper headline bit. i got to surf last sunday after a 5 or so year hiatus. very cool to be back in the ocean, somethings just feel RIGHT! it was a flood of emotion and good surf too.
