i love architecture, design, the proper use of a skyline, the swanky NYC attitude. but......wtf are we doing building something so huge, big, tall, better (in some eyes) & glitzy? as a fellow new yorker this is just one more feather in the cap of amercia's ability to just go over the top. pataki is a wanker at times just looking to match up to all the expectations laid before him. god knows you bet hiliary clinton deep down inside loves this new "fight back capitalistic we can do it attitude" that NY is kicking back in the times when bush & cheny are being mocked in the middle east.

i wonder if they will have extra large parking spaces for all the execs to slide the town cars, suv's & hummers? better yet...i wonder which firms & what the particular reaches of those will have in the world economy? ie: who's hands are really dirty...like the speculation around some of the last tentants? hmmmm it's a interesting thought thats for sure.

I can't imagine the 200ft "pedestal" they proposed today for security is going to give it much street appeal as well....be like standing next to a bunker. By the time the architects & politicos get something built I fear it will be bland, boring and way above budget...
