Whew hew!!! It's Girls' Night/Day...

A celebration of sisterhood, womanhood, girlhood....femininity, inner strength, balance, peace & love from last week-end.

Whew hew!!! Last Saturday night was all about us girls getting together and taking care of each other. We were known as Auntie Ye, Auntie Krista and Baby Xian.
gn1

We had dinner with the family, the boys...Corey (Grandma), Cory (Grandpa), Jesse (Papa bear) & Yves (Princess). Grandma, Grandpa, and Auntie Krista barbeque-d on the grill...fish, turkey & veggies. Dessert was brought by Papa bear...yummy Hagaan-Daaz(sp?) ice-cream. A variety of flavors, cherry vanilla, chocolate chip cookie dough, chocolate ice cream with chocolate chips and vanilla.

Yummy bitter detoxifying greens, our collards, from our nourishing garden!! We raised them from day one. These are our babies. We made sure we blessed them before we ate them :)

The boys finally got out of our hair & then we were on our own. Yay!!! A jam packed evening full of laughter, gigles, fun & peace. We started the night dancing, doing the hula hoop and spinning poi with glo-sticks attached to them under the "night after" full moon.

Then we deep conditioned our hair, wrapped them up with saran-wrap and then took turns helping each other with the turbons (sp?) on our heads. Beautiful??!!

(xian's braid)

Next treatment, full body massages...2 on 1. Truly decadent and so relaxing!! We all braided each others hair before bed, with the deep conditioner still in our hair...& slept with towels on our pillows.

1, 2, 3, 4,

Slumber party in Aunty Ye's bedroom...sorry, grandma...you've been kicked out.

Surfing Canoes...flat-1 foot. Rhythm, balance & confidence

gn11
Breakfast at Bogarts; fancy car...Xian in the driver seat!! Look out, world...here she comes.

Makeover at Origins by Aunty Krista. Lots of sparkles all over our faces and skin.

Return of baby Xian back to happy papa bear by Aunty Ye.

Ladies out there, I highly recommend treating yourselves to a once a month pamper session. It is so important for us to take care of each other. I hope we were able to inspire some of you out there.

You too boys, you all need to take care of each other every so often. Thanks boys for all your love and support!

Loving alohas,
Aunty Ye

sailing away

lately the sunrises & sunest have been epic. i mean living here in the south pacific we get more than our fair share of nice sunsets. no complaints there. all things considered it seems like lately the skies have been the sweetest shades of oranges, reds, yellows, pinks, purples & blues. the dawn patrol sessions have been weak on the wave heights, yet the sunrises themselves have been beautiful.
check out last nights...

had to laugh over this one...

WORKING WITH IDIOTS CAN KILL YOU
Stress caused by dim-witted co-workers may give you a fatal heart attack!
By KATE McCLARE

STOCKHOLM -- Idiots in the office are just as hazardous to your health as cigarettes, caffeine or greasy food, an eye-opening new study reveals. In fact, those dopes can kill you!

Stress is one of the top causes of heart attacks -- and working with stupid people on a daily basis is one of the deadliest forms of stress, according to researchers at Sweden's Lindbergh University Medical Center.

The author of the study, Dr. Dagmar Andersson, says her team studied 500 heart attack patients, and were puzzled to find 62 percent had relatively few of the physical risk factors commonly blamed for heart attacks.

"Then we questioned them about lifestyle habits, and almost all of these low-risk patients told us they worked with people so stupid they can barely find their way from the parking lot to their office. And their heart attack came less than 12 hours after having a major confrontation with one of these oafs.

"One woman had to be rushed to the hospital after her assistant shredded important company tax documents instead of copying them. A man told us he collapsed right at his desk because the woman at the next cubicle kept asking him for correction fluid -- for her computer monitor.

"You can cut back on smoking or improve your diet," Dr. Andersson says, "but most people have very poor coping skills when it comes to stupidity -- they feel there's nothing they can do about it, so they just internalize their frustration until they finally explode."

Stupid co-workers can also double or triple someone's work load, she explains. "Many of our subjects feel sorry for the drooling idiots they work with, so they try to cover for them by fixing their mistakes. One poor woman spent a week rebuilding client records because a clerk put them all in the 'recycle bin' of her computer and then emptied it -- she thought it meant the records would be recycled and used again."

its all good

cf-1.jpg
chill morning out in the surf @ dawn patrol. beautiful sunrise with pink, orange & red cotton candy clouds. the waves were a weeee bit tiny, but still fun to horse around on. especially on the inside w/ a longboard. actually rode one of my best nose rides today. nice little hiphigh righthander w/ a glassy 40 yard wall. good enough to scootch out on the nose & arch the arms back while grasping the hands. gave me a nice tingle stoke that warmed the soul. a true pleasure of an experience that i wish could last forever.

i suppose thats why i'm a junkie when it comes to surfing. i'll surf the hump, bump, chop, slop, glass, mush, hollow, peaky, trade wind blown, wee small & doubled up over head. i'll pick the sand out of my hair, use aloe for a weeks worth of sunburns, give up sleep & tend to basic reef slashes. you name it i'll try it & live it for the love of the glide. to be free & slip on down the face into moments of pure bliss. the feeling of mother nature giving you a wave is to feel a mothers hug..enduring, warm, strong & loving.

today is fullmoon. this means we are heading out for a fullmoon session tonight under the glowing soft moonlight. moon bathing in a sea of energy. the great thing is that you can eliminate the perspective of vision. well, maybe not eliminate...but reduce it drastically. therefore giving you the chance to use your other senses such as balance, intuition & touch.
should be a dandy...

oh yeah....here's a few shots of the bishman getting the surf troop pumped up for the day...

need sleep...

wildthings1.jpg
ugh, i need sleep & to slip off into a dream like state....just for a few hours more...please?

@ the moment i'm in the middle of a game launch. in the period of exhasution the biggest resources available are concentration, food, sugar, family, trying to stay awake & sleep. all of which become tapped out through the grind of getting through the development cycles. to have items accomplished & a game out the door.

right now i cannot stand our games music. last night i had dreams that were in stereo from this music. we even have a little dance some of us will do when playing the game. its madness & several of my dev's have reach the threshold of fruity, wonkie & over an all randy attitudes.

supposedly someone said somewhere at sometime that the most creative juices are inspired from the most hellish confused combobalted states. i think we are safe to say that we are at that bus stop now.

as a simulation just go back in your mind to that dream like state when you are up all night having a party, pulling a late nighter or even taking care of your kids. i guess it is a little baby to us & we want it to grow. however over night its morphed into baby godzilla that needs to be fed or it gets cranking. in a way thats very similar to the childrens book "where the wild things are". often i feel like as soon as i arrive to work its a whole different world from what i live. but i yern to return to the world i exist in.
then i get up in the morning & look forward to visiting all my monster friends with creative fruity fun ideas.

back & forth crossing both sides & along the way being lost inthe moments.

surf rack is up and functioning!

surfrack1.jpg

after a few 3/6/12 beers, several scratch pad drawings, a few dicy saw cuts & a decent day in the sun the burly surf rack is up. not only can it hold 4 - 8 boards by design, we think you could dangle several small childern & make it into a whoop-ass jungle gym.

small waves & orange sunsets

check out last nights sunset at the beach.

a beach side bbq to part ways with some new friends & celebrate a b-day.
(sunset, bbq's, good people & some laughs to say bonyage local style)
080405-3.jpg

as for the surf! surf is smalllllllll kine cuz.
0-1 all week with the exception of a coupla early morning sets. thankfully the 10 footer can assist in the catching of the lil'waves. mainly this week & past 2 weeks have been similar....in that its been better to just work on paddling, foot stances & getting use to the 8 footer. training of some sorts i suppose is one way to look at it. another is that i'm dialed into the ocean & the need to be in the water. its becoming an addiction that needs to be fed or the big baby inside me gets cranky.

hope you all have a good weekend.
alohas.....from to the tropics

new glass love

new board has arrived!!!!!
7:30-2.jpg
after a 4 week wait to the day when the clark foam template was cutt.
a sweet little semi-ish gun shaped early 70's/ late 60's pintail rocket is born. the seafoam green color turned out spectacular. giving the board a real relaxed vibe yet still having the look of a swoopy head high /dbl over head screamer.

needless to say i was stoked to head off to the shop to grab the new stick. after a quick blessing with some salt water & sage it was time for the base wax & a healthy top coat of sex wax. all that was left was a quick load up on the moped & it off to cliffs for the intro session. even if the waves are junk right now (2-4ft reg w/ tradewinds blowing at 15-20mph) i still loved every second of the new board. just like a nice skateboard grinding fat turns down a road or slipping a snowboard into some tight-n-wide "s" turns.... the new board just ripped.
7:30-4.jpg
the dbl channels feeding into the hatchet 2plus1 setup proves to be a fast, loose & skiddy ride. thin rails to help slice when digging in & its very easy to carve up some good spray.

i think what attracts me the me the most is the potential of this board to take my riding style back in time. even when i was sketching the board out i found myself hunting for historical info. anything along the lines of older articles, designs, clips of movies & looking at the various shapers websites for sizing. all of this creating a story of innovation of the times back then, the spirit of the boards flow in the water & varied characters riding them.

now...if mother nature would just answer my wishes & send some head high glassy swells for august. i could just be one of the happiest surfers in the water.

oh yeah, for all of you who want me to shut it about the board......here's an alternative pic for u.
a little rainbow action over the back yard view of diamond head.
